Near Baghdad

Looks like our troops are within 10 miles of baghdad and have taken the airport. They appear to have met little resistance.

This is great news. I am against this war and I wish we would pull our troops out right now, but if we have to be fighting I want us to win quickly and decisively with minimal loss of life on both sides. I think that is what most sensible anti war people think no matter what certain Columbia professors say.

In other good news, maybe the whole country isn’t against us:

American officials were especially heartened by reports that a top Shiite cleric in Iraq had issued a fatwa, or religious decree, supporting the coalition invasion.

Hopefully we can get into Baghdad fairly quickly now. I hope the Iraqui military didn’t just let the troops in so they could use guerilla tactics later.
