Goin’ Around

So I am going around the web and I see this story on slashdot. As of this writing it has 1214 comments. It is about a middle eastern man, Maher “Mike” Hawash, who has been detained indefinitely as a material witness relating to terrorism. He is in solitary and has yet to be charged with anything. Of course this has been blogged about quite a bit already.

There is a site, freemikehawash.org about him, which for some reason comes up as localhost on my machine. Luckily there is a google cache.

In a comment to that story I found an interesting editorial contemplating what we would do if we treated IRA and other Irish terrorism in the same way we are handling the 9/11 attacks. (Thanks to this reply for the link.)
