Religious Coercion

Try to read this or this without becoming completely enraged.

Some yahoo chaplain somehow got 50 gal of water and is only letting soldiers use it to bathe after they listen to a sermon and get baptized. So who is supporting the troops exactly?

Via Atrios who says it makes him “so goddamn livid I can’t even think straight,” and Calpundit who calls this guy “a disgrace to Christians everywhere.” Also from this comment by Jo Fish in Atrios’ comments:

I think any of the Chaplains I ever knew in the Navy would have bitch-slapped this guy into next week and maybe beyond. Even though I was not a real religious person, I always found Navy Chaplains to be good folks who were interested in tending to the needs of everyone no matter their beliefs.

This guy gives Military Chaplains, a normally pretty inoffensive, hard-working group, a bad name. Jerk. They ought to relieve his sorry ass and send him home.
