July 09, 2003Fitness blog #8Weight: 166.0 lbs A somewhat surprising downward trend too since:
This means that I have lost over 25 lbs since I started weighing myself (I have likely lost even more than that since I started weighing myself about a week into the diet). I am halfway to my goal of loosing ≈ 50 lbs. I am getting compliments too on how much weight I have lost; always a great ego boost. It is nice to hear since it is often hard to judge how you look yourself. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have a complaint though: None of my pants or shorts fit. They are all seriously too loose. I don’t want to buy new ones yet till I hit my goal weight, since I can’t really afford buy a set of pants just to have for the next month or two. I know I won’t fit into my goal pants of 32” yet, and I don’t just want to buy 34” pants that will only get limited use. This talk about pants reminds me that I should state my real goal on this diet. Sure I want to loose ≈ 50 lbs to bring me to 140-145 or so, which I feel is right for my height (5’6” to 5’7”). But my real goal is: To fit loosely into a pair of Levis 32” jeans. Specifically I should be able to remove the jeans from my body without unbuttoning them. This is the point I was at in high school and early college. Pants size seems to be a better metric for me too since I haven’t been weighing myself or measuring my waist over the years, but I have been wearing ever increasingly sized pants. Update: OOPS, I am definitely not 6’7”, more like 5’7”. Posted by Jeremy at 11:16 PM | Link
